Dear Boston Mamas: North Shore Resources

diaper-lab.jpgToday's Dear Boston Mamas query comes from Sarah via the Boston Mamas Facebook page (congrats on your impending arrival Sarah!). Boston Mamas contributing writer Jennifer (a North Shore mom of twins) kindly is fielding Sarah's question:

Hi Boston Mamas. We live north of Boston, but I was wondering if you have any resources on finding twin classes, of any kind, and/or cloth diaper information/classes. We have a 21-month-old now and twins on the way in April. Thanks in advance!

Dear Sarah,

Your best bet would be to hook up with a mothers of twins group to get your questions answered by experienced moms of multiples! I know at least one mom from my club (North Shore Mothers of Multiples) who did cloth diapers and was a big proponent of them. She happily talks at meetings to prospective moms on the topic when asked. Here are some contacts for clubs depending on where you are located:

  • North Shore Mothers of Multiples: This is the group I have belonged to for 6 years. Our general meetings are in Danvers and the club has an active message board on Big Tent, as well as a Facebook page.

  • North Suburban Parents of Multiples: This group meets in Saugus.

  • National Organization Mothers of Twins Clubs: Good resources and links on this site, and you can also search for clubs.

  • Isis Parenting: As for classes, Isis Parenting offers a multiples childbirth class and a parenting multiples class at their various locations.

  • Diaper Lab: For cloth diapering information, check out Diaper Lab. They are located in Somerville (not North Shore, but worth the drive!) and offering introduction to cloth diapering classes (one is coming up soon according to their website).
