7 Kid-Related Tech Ideas (+ A $250 Giveaway!)

It’s been truly fascinating to talk tech on Edit Your Life -- both about the device divide and the upside of electronics. And related to the latter, I'll be sharing posts today and next week on fun last minute holiday tech ideas thanks to an editorial partnership with AT&T (which is pretty cool because I’ve been a customer for approximately a bajillion years, dating back to my very first Blackberry!). Today’s feature is on 7 kid-related tech products and apps. Also, keep reading to learn how to win a $250 gift card to AT&T (hint: it’s super easy!).

1. iFrogs Tadpole Bluetooth Speaker

Music is a huge part of our everyday; Jon and Laurel both play guitar and I'm starting to pick up a few chords too. If you’re looking for a space-efficient, portable music solution for your kids, check out the iFrogz Tadpole Bluetooth Speaker. It’s affordable, comes in cool colors, has a two-hour battery life (rechargeable via USB), and kids can even snap it onto their backpack. (This is way easier than hoisting the giant boom boxes of my 80s youth. Ha.)

2. iFrogz Little Rockers Headphones

When we’re on family road trips, Jon and I usually want to chill in the quiet or talk quietly and Laurel wants to listen to Taylor Swift. If you're in a similar solution, these iFrogz Little Rockers Headphones come in a few styles, including a unicorn option. O.M.G.

3. LifeProof FRE case

In our house, we’ve got a “you break it, you replace it” rule with electronics. And protective cases like the LifeProof FRE caseare water-, snow-, drop-, and dirt-proof. As in, super awesome for kids.

4. iFrogz Red Petal Case

For a less expensive protective case, iFrogz makes super stylish options, like their red petal case.

5. Epic!

Have you heard about the Epic! app? It’s an all-you-can-read eBook library for kids 12 and under. The first month is free and then the subscription is $4.99/month. Such a great pick for avid readers, and perfect for holiday travel.

6. iCam - Webcam Video Streaming

Want to keep an eye on your kids as you dash out for a quick holiday errand, or keep an eye on your home while you're away for holiday travels? iCam - Webcam Video Streaming is an app that allows you to watch live video and audio feeds from any room in your home via your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. CRAZY.

7. AT&T FamilyMap

One thing I’ve talked with a lot of parents about as kids get older is figuring out how to manage communication as kids are out and about more on their own. At the moment, our solution is not so efficient and is prone to miscommunication, so I’m tempted by AT&T's FamilyMap service. I by no means want to helicopter every moment, I'd just generally like to be less confused about comings and goings!

Fun ideas, right? Now, about that giveaway I mentioned! For my Boston-area readers, simply leave a comment below by noon, Monday, December 21, 2015 to enter to win a $250 gift card to AT&T! You will totally want to use it at the snazzy Boylston Street store, which is AT&T’s premiere New England location. They opened earlier this year and offer a boss shopping experience...look how pretty the store is! What a fun holiday treat, right? Good luck!
