What Moms Really Want For Mother's Day

I've been writing this blog for nearly 11 years so, not surprisingly, I get a lot of Mother’s Day pitches. And while I realize that the people who send these pitches have a job to do, I’ll be honest -- a lot of the pitches make me laugh out loud because I'm usually like, OMG NOBODY WANTS THAT. I mean, seriously, there are so many things that nobody wants.

So I decided to conduct an incredibly unofficial, unscientific poll. My former statistics professors would not be happy about this, but hey, I'm not in science anymore! Here’s what I came up with:

1. Moms largely don’t want material gifts on Mother's Day

Generally speaking, the moms I heard from largely don’t want material things on Mother's Day. In fact, it was sort of comical that the only material gifts people mentioned were related to coffee and decluttering (on the latter, as in, A DUMPSTER FOR DECLUTTERING YOU GUYS - BWA HA HA!). Otherwise, the gifts that cost money were clutter-free and experiential in nature (e.g., spa time).

2. Moms largely want really simple, basic things for Mother's Day (except for one big thing)

Of the non-material items, the theme was clear. The things moms want on Mother's Day are the absence of negative things. Moms want no-guilt (when it comes to what they choose to do with their day), no complaining or fighting, and no planning (as in, they don’t want to have to plan their own Mother’s Day activities). They do want hugs and family outings (notably of the nature-oriented variety). It’s about the simple things, y’all.

Except, well, for Donald Trump's impeachment. It’s not a simple thing but a lot of moms want it.
