Curated Virtual Event Weekly Roundup!

Happy summer, friends! We’re continuing to deliver this curated weekday event roundup since many families are still looking for ways to engage their kids this summer. Following are recurring events as well as events for Monday through Friday.

10 AM: Mornings with Matt Heaton return for the summer with songs, dance numbers, stories, and general merriment, plus Big Kid Fridays.

11 AM: The New England Aquarium hosts live presentations, new videos, and activities to try at home every weekday

1:30 PM: The Franklin Park and Stone Zoos present Zoo to You, a daily dose of animal cuteness, chats with their care staff, and crafts and activities to do at home

Various Times: The Museum of Science offers a variety of STEM programs throughout each weekday.

Monday, June 29

9 AM: It’s time for a scavenger hunt.

10:30 AM: Stories, songs, and fun await at this Facebook Live Storytime.

4:30 PM: Attend a virtual meetup for LGBTQ+ Parents.

8 PM: Music at the Substation presents One Midsummer’s Eve, a program including works by Ravel, Vaughan, Williams, Schumann, and as always, some fun surprises.

Tuesday, June 30

9 AM: Learn to paint fireworks.

10 AM: Move, groove, and sing-a-long during this virtual singing and dancing event.

2:30 PM: Jr. Celtics offers live basketball workouts geared toward older kids, featuring a mix of Celtics VIP guests.

6:30 PM: Celebrate LGBTQ+ history and present day with songs and storytelling for kids.

7 PM: Get to know MEFA’s College Planning Tool to start planning and saving for college.

Wednesday, July 1

9 AM: Try a 20 minute core workout with the Moody Street Circus.

10 AM: Join Big Joe the Storyteller for some fun.

10 AM: Attend an online Postpartum Support Group.

1 PM: Boston Medical Center hosts a workshop and support session focused on Caring for Kids with Special Needs during the COVID pandemic, addressing topics like expectations, behavior, and routines.

Thursday, July 2

9 AM: Learn to make soda bottle rockets.

9:30 AM: Coach Sam from Jr. Celtics hosts live basketball workouts so younger kids can practice skills and drills from home with limited space.

10 AM: Join the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum to learn how water gets from a rain cloud to our home through stories, movement, and map-making.

4:30 PM: Kids can join a local chef for an interactive virtual cooking class focused on Cooking the Harvest.

5 PM: Make Fourth of July Cake Pops.

5:30 PM: Attend this July Vigil in Support of Black Lives Matter (Jamaica Plain).

Friday, July 3

9:30 AM: Jump around during a fun virtual gym class.

4 PM: Celebrate July 4th with a bang by learning to make patriotic piñata cupcakes.

4 PM: Make music with Mister Vic.

6 PM: Take part in a Hamilton Watch Party to support Black Lives Matter Boston and the Massachusetts Bail Fund.
